A few thoughts:

A lot of a solicitor’s communications are of a legal nature and need to be made in a physical form to establish a train of evidence. For that reason, computer skills are less vital for a solicitor than for some other professions. Poor computer skills may mean that a solicitor is less well able to carry out on-line research. Most solicitors would not type their own documents as this would be a poor use of their skills and expensive time.

If a solicitor had bad management skills, it might affect his/her ability to manage staff and/or his/her business appropriately but, since many solicitors have no management responsibility (whether in private practice or industry), a lack of management skills may not be important.

Time management skills are essential to a solicitor. Many legal process are time-critical. Without time management skills, a solicitor could not prioritise actions. Failure to act in a timely manner may jeopardise a legal case and not be in the best interest of his/her clients.
